Tax Academy of Singapore and IPOS International Formalise Strategic Collaboration
26 August 2026
Tax Academy of Singapore and IPOS International signed a landmark Collaboration Agreement on 26 August 2026 at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre during Singapore IP Week 2026. This strategic partnership bridges professional silos across intellectual property, business valuation, and tax structuring.

Held in front of a distinguished gathering of policy makers, corporate executives, and international delegates, the ceremony brought together key leadership including Dennis Lui, CEO of Tax Academy of Singapore, and Kok Kitt-Wai, Managing Director of IPOS International.
The gathering highlighted a shared commitment across government agencies and private sector leaders to elevate Singapore’s standing as a global hub for intangible asset management.

Tax Academy CEO, Mr Dennis Lui's Opening Speech
Last October, I visited IPOS International and had a very good discussion with Kitt-Wai Kok and his team. We talked about the growing intersection between intellectual property and tax, and the opportunities for our two organisations to work together. I left the meeting very inspired by what IPOS International had achieved.
I am delighted that, less than a year later, we are here formalising that partnership.
Increasingly, the value of businesses resides in technology, software, brands, innovation and intellectual property.
IP creates value. Valuation seeks to measure that value. And of course accounting and tax treatments will then follow.
Yet professionals in these areas can sometimes operate in separate silos. Our opportunity is to bring the various groups of professional together.
I am also very glad that we already have concrete actions. From 5 to 7 October, IPOS International and Tax Academy will jointly deliver Integrated IP, Valuation & Tax: A Strategic Toolkit for Decision-Makers, at the Tax Academy Hub.
This programme brings all three disciplines together around the same business journey — so that professionals can understand how decisions made in one area affect outcomes in another.
This is only the beginning. Beyond programmes, there is potential for practitioner dialogues, thought leadership, case studies, regional capacity building and other forms of knowledge exchange.
Our ambition should go beyond running courses together. It should be about creating new knowledge, building new capabilities, and bringing different professional communities together.
I should also acknowledge Richard Goh from IRAS, who has played an important role in developing this collaboration. In fact, during his secondment to IPOS in 2022, he began thinking about a very practical problem: IP, valuation and tax are often treated as separate disciplines, even though businesses must deal with them as part of the same business value chain. I am grateful that Richard has been a strong advocate of collaboration in this space.
Thank you to Kitt-Wai and our colleagues at IPOS International, to Richard, and to the teams on both sides who have brought us to this point.
I look forward very much to what we will build together.
Thank you.
As highlighted in the keynote address, the inaugural milestone of this partnership is the Integrated IP, Valuation & Tax: A Strategic Toolkit for Decision-Makers executive programme. Taking place from 5–7 October 2026 at the Tax Academy of Singapore Hub (Revenue House), this 3-day masterclass is specifically curated for CFOs, corporate legal counsel, tax heads, IP directors, and senior advisors who navigate intangible assets in cross-border transactions.

Unlike traditional siloed workshops, IIVT is structured around a single, continuous technology-business case study that unfolds across the three days:
Day 1 (IP Strategy & Value Creation): Focuses on commercialising intangibles, IP portfolio management, and conducting due diligence during corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Day 2 (Valuing Intangibles for Strategic Decisions): Examines International Valuation Standards (IVS/IVAS), financial reporting under IFRS, and valuation requirements for Section 19B tax writing-down allowances.
Day 3 (Tax, Transfer Pricing & Cross-border Risk Management): Explores international tax structuring, BEPS 2.0 implications, transfer pricing for intangible transactions, and dispute prevention strategies.
Participants will learn directly from a faculty of 13 senior experts spanning regulatory bodies, multinational enterprises, Big 4 advisory firms, and top legal practices—including leaders from IRAS, EDB, Applied Materials, and Gojek.

The programme offers flexible 1-day modular or full 3-day passes, accredited for up to 18 SILE Public CPD points. Early-bird registration rates starting from S$540/day are available through 28 August 2026.
