If your business operates across Southeast Asia, this one's for you.
Tax Academy of Singapore and Taxise Asia (WTS Taxise) are coming together to bring you Tax and Trade Strategies for Cross-Border Business — a two-part seminar series with five regional practitioners from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
The series comprises two 3-hour seminars: one focusing on international tax developments and the other on international trade developments. Participants may register for either seminar individually or attend both as a combined two-day programme. The proposed agenda will cover key issues including the global 15% minimum effective tax rate and Pillar Two, recent tax developments, tax audits and controversy, tariffs, customs, rules of origin, export controls, sanctions and broader trade compliance considerations.
Agenda
Seminar 1 - Tax Showcase (16 Sep):
The Dawn of the Global 15% Minimum Effective Tax Rate Era and International Tax Developments in Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam
This seminar explores the evolving international tax landscape across Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, with a focus on the global 15% minimum effective tax rate and the implementation of BEPS 2.0 and Pillar Two. It will examine how each jurisdiction is approaching minimum taxation, the Side-by-Side Arrangement, tax incentives, treaty access, safe harbours and compliance requirements, along with recent tax law changes, indirect tax developments, transfer pricing, permanent establishment risks, and emerging audit and controversy trends.
Seminar 2 - Trade Showcase (17 Sep):
Origin, Tariffs and Controls – International Trade Developments in Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam
This seminar examines the rapidly evolving international trade and customs environment across Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. It will explore tariff exposure, the impact of U.S. tariff measures, rules of origin, transhipment and bilateral trade arrangements, alongside emerging export controls and sanctions regimes — from non-proliferation to AI sovereignty — as well as post-clearance audits, trade compliance programmes, penalties and the intersection between customs valuation and transfer pricing.
