Opening of the PS Centre Jakarta

On 4 September 2026, Tax Academy of Singapore joined partners from Singapore and Indonesia for the official launch of the Professional Services Centre (PS Centre) @ Jakarta, marking another step in strengthening professional and business connectivity between Singapore and Indonesia.

Located at Cyber 2 Tower in Jakarta, the PS Centre brings together a network of professional organisations and partners to support businesses as they navigate opportunities and challenges across markets.

For businesses expanding internationally, the issues they encounter rarely fall neatly within a single discipline. Tax, legal, accounting, regulatory, valuation, financing and market-entry considerations can often intersect. The PS Centre seeks to provide businesses with a starting point from which they can access relevant professional expertise, local knowledge and trusted connections.

Building a trusted professional services corridor

The Jakarta launch brought together representatives from Singapore's professional and business community alongside Indonesian organisations spanning accountancy, business, law and capital markets.

The launch reflected a shared recognition that supporting cross-border growth requires not only technical expertise, but also trusted networks that can help businesses understand where to begin and connect with the right expertise.

Connecting businesses, professionals and markets

As part of the programme, Mr Dennis Lui, CEO of Tax Academy of Singapore, joined fellow PS Centre Alliance partners in welcoming participants to the new Centre.

Mr Lui also moderated the panel discussion, “Global Investment Corridors: Strategic Policy Alignment and Cross-Border Business Opportunities”, bringing together perspectives from the business and professional-services community on supporting enterprises operating across markets.

For Tax Academy, participation in the PS Centre Alliance complements our role as an educator and capability-building platform.

Engagement with businesses and professional networks provides an opportunity to better understand the practical tax and business issues arising from cross-border activity. Where common challenges and knowledge gaps emerge across organisations, these insights can help inform future educational programmes, practical resources, thought leadership and stakeholder dialogues.

This creates a reinforcing connection between business needs, professional expertise and learning — enabling Tax Academy to develop relevant knowledge and capability-building initiatives while professional advisers continue to support businesses on their transaction-specific needs.

Deepening our engagement with Indonesia

The opening of PS Centre @ Jakarta formed part of a wider series of engagements by Tax Academy in Indonesia.

During the Jakarta visit, Tax Academy also engaged different parts of Indonesia's tax and professional ecosystem, including academia, professional advisers and tax-sector stakeholders. Together, these engagements provide TA with a better understanding of the needs of learners, professionals and businesses operating within the Singapore–Indonesia corridor.

Rather than viewing regional engagement solely through individual programmes or events, Tax Academy is progressively developing a wider network through which government, academia, industry and the professional community can learn, connect and exchange perspectives.

The PS Centre network provides an important avenue for this engagement — connecting TA with businesses and professional organisations, surfacing emerging needs, and providing access to local perspectives and expertise.

The Jakarta launch is the beginning of a longer journey.

As these relationships develop, Tax Academy will continue exploring opportunities to turn connections into meaningful collaboration — including educational programmes, expert exchanges, knowledge resources, thought leadership and platforms for constructive regional dialogue.

Through initiatives such as the Professional Services Centre Alliance, Tax Academy aims to contribute its expertise in tax education, knowledge development and capability building, while supporting stronger connections between Singapore, Indonesia and the wider region.
