TEI International Tax Student Case Competition 2025

Bringing together university teams, mentors, tax practitioners and judges from around the world, the competition gives students an opportunity to apply their tax knowledge to complex, real-world international tax issues while learning from the wider global tax community.

Singapore celebrated an outstanding result in 2025, with Team NTU emerging as the overall champion.

The NTU team secured first place after competing against university teams from around the world.

The competition challenged students to analyse a complex international tax case, develop their recommendations and present their findings before a panel of experienced tax professionals and judges.

Together with their NTU counterparts, the NUS team represented Singapore on the international stage and gained valuable exposure to different perspectives, approaches and experiences in international taxation.

More Than a Competition

The International Tax Student Case Competition is designed to help students develop an interest in taxation through practical case analysis and interaction with the international tax community.

Through the experience, students have the opportunity to:

• Tackle complex international tax issues through a real-world case-based challenge

• Apply tax knowledge in practice, moving beyond the classroom to analyse business and cross-border tax considerations

• Strengthen analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills under time pressure

• Learn from experienced tax practitioners and mentors from different jurisdictions

• Exchange perspectives with students from around the world

• Build connections with the global tax community and gain greater exposure to careers in taxation
