NTUC members can claim up to $250 a year on Tax Academy courses through UTAP. Members aged 40 and above may qualify for up to $500 yearly.

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) for NTUC Members

Attend up to $250 worth of Tax Academy training for free each year as an NTUC member!

UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more NTUC members to go for skills upgrading.

NTUC members enjoy 50% unfunded course fee* support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. Under the Enhanced UTAP**, union members aged 40 and above get a further boost to upskill, with higher course fee subsidy, capped at $500 per qualifying member per year.

*Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidy. This excludes GST, registration fees, miscellaneous fees, etc.

**This is only applicable to courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2025.

Courses

The following courses offered by Tax Academy are eligible for UTAP claims:

  • Income Tax Level 1

  • Income Tax Level 2

  • Advanced Tax Programme

  • GST Level 1

  • GST Level 2

  • Advanced GST Programme

  • International Tax Level 1

  • International Tax Level 2

  • Leiden – TA Advanced Tax Treaties Programme

  • WU – TA Advanced Transfer Pricing Programme

  • Advanced International Tax Planning Programme

Who can apply?

All NTUC members can apply for UTAP. The following criteria must be met:

  1. Paid-up NTUC membership before course commenced, throughout whole course duration and at the point of claim

  2. Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP, and training must commence within the supported period

  3. Course must not be fully funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding

  4. You must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any

  5. UTAP application must be submitted within 6 months after course completion
